5 Wedding Tasks Brides Often Forget

Brides

I have noticed at weddings there are common key parts of your wedding day that are sometimes overlooked. Therefore, I have a made a list of the top 5 wedding tasks brides often forget! Hope this helps in planning your flawless day and remembering those little details!

  1. Bringing your marriage license to the wedding
    • Start gathering information on what you’ll need to obtain your marriage license. The last thing you want to do before your wedding is scramble around looking for documents in order to make it official. Another tip, is having one person responsible for keeping track of the license the entire day. After signing the marriage license, it is often misplaced (hint: your mom, dad, or sibling is often great for this 😉 ).
  2. Bringing a  cake knife and toasting flute
    • I can’t tell you how many times the bride and groom have went to go cut the cake and there is no cake knife or everyone is ready to toast and you don’t have anything to toast with!! The reason for this is because many brides believe the  catering company will provide the utensils but that is (often) not the case! Make sure to check with your catering company or cake artist before your big day!
  3. Pack an overnight bag
    • This one I am speaking from experience. There was so much planning and little details that needed to take place for the ceremony and reception that I forgot to pack an overnight bag until I was reminded to at my rehearsal dinner! Always try to think about what is going to happen after your amazing love-filled day! Will you be leaving immediately to board your flight? Will you be heading to a hotel? How will you be getting to the hotel or airport?
  4. Assign tasks for clean up
    • Once the grand exit happens and the bride and groom get in the car to leave, guests often do not know who is in charge of what. Make a list of people who are willing to help clean up (often parents and master/mistress of ceremony) and assign them a particular item to clean up. Examples are cake, flowers, decorations, etc. This was a HUGE help to me because I was able to know specifically who had what items when we got back from our honeymoon 🙂
  5. Writing reviews/thanking vendors
    • Typically, thank you cards to guests aren’t forgotten because you received a tangible item from them. But, often the vendors are. To be honest, I totally understand! Vendors aren’t suppose to be highlighted because the day is all about YOU! So, please understand I am not writing this to scold anyone or to try and get more credit, but just to let you know how meaningful a simple “thank you” is. The vendors are typically the people who have spent countless hours doing everything they can to make your day even more special, so just say thanks.

xoxo,
