Brian’s Three Wedding Wisdom Advice

Brides

I’m so excited for today’s post because it was written by my handsome husband/second shooter, Brian!! I thought it would be great to hear a guy’s perspective of wedding advice instead of it always coming from me 😉 I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did!! xo – TB1. It’s YOUR wedding! The planning process is already stressful enough, you shouldn’t lose sleep over decisions that don’t directly effect you. For example, who sits with who at the reception, how people are going to get from the ceremony to the reception, or the food you are serving. Now don’t get me wrong, every part of the wedding is important and should be carefully considered, but some decisions you make are simply more important than others. If you want a first look, DO IT. If you want to serve mac and cheese (I may or may not have taken mac and cheese from the kids buffet station before), DO IT. There are plenty of important decisions that will be made throughout the planning process, i.e. what dress the bride is going to wear, or what your first dance song will be. Don’t get caught up in those somewhat less important ones that don’t really impact the two of you all that much.

2.  Soak it all in! I know you’ve heard this at least one million times by one million different people, but I’m going to make it one million and one. TAKE TIME TO STOP, LOOK AROUND, AND ABSORB EVERYTHING!!! I may have went overboard on the all caps, but that’s how significant it is! Your wedding day WILL be gone in the blink of an eye! You will be laying in bed next to your new spouse, thinking where did the time go? To this day I always wish I would have just taken a step back with Tauri and soaked everything in.

3. Last, but certainly not least DANCE! Second to taking time and enjoying the moment, I wish we would have danced more! All the formalities are done, portrait pictures are over, this is the time to let loose and really enjoy yourself. Now I know some of you may be thinking “Dancing isn’t my thing” or “I’m not a good dancer”, but your wedding day is the ultimate hall pass for dancing. Every one wants to be where the bride and groom are. If you’re on the dance floor, guess where your guests will be…on the dance floor. Whether it be good or bad, who cares, just dance.

Your wedding day will be the greatest day of you life! Don’t stress over the little things (side note the brides dress will get dirty and it’s OK), take time for just the two of you and soak everything in, finally, dance, just get out there and dance! – Brian

Great advice, Brian! Alex and I will definitely be expecting you and Tauri to make up for #3 on our dance floor! 😀
