We had the opportunity to visit four BEAUTIFUL islands of Hawaii this past May for our anniversary trip and I’m excited to share part THREE of four with you today! The third island we visited was the Big Island of Hawaii. If you missed part one (Oahu), you can view it here or part two (Maui), here.

We were in Hawaii for a total of two weeks and to be honest we could of stayed longer! There is so much to see!! The final blog post coming (the island of Kauai) will the be LONGEST of them all. It was our favorite island 😉

 We were suppose to dock in two places on this island but unfortunately we were unable to dock in Hilo due to surges in the water from the volcano erupting. We were pretty bummed because we had planned a helicopter tour of the volcano so instead we had a sea day and relaxed! Brian planned a fancy dinner accompanied with roses, chocolate covered strawberries (my fav!) and at the end they brought us an anniversary cake! SO SWEET! This was the sunset at the end of our sea day. We docked in Kona the next day and couldn’t believe all of the haze in the sky from the volcano!  Of course we had to try Kona coffee! Our ship from afar!  We walked A LOT this day! We toured the islands and the shops, laid out of the beach (Brian swam in the ocean) and visited a little farmers market.Love, love, love this man!!   We couldn’t believe how many black rocks were on the island all just from the volcanos erupting. We tried shave ice because when you visit Hawaii – you must, right?! It was delicious but it also had ice cream in the center so you know I’d love it 😉
